Macrimex is one of the leading suppliers of medical and healthcare products to Russia. Based in Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire, it supplies medical equipment to many hospitals and clinics in Russia and in 1997 landed a multi-million dollar deal with one of the top Moscow hospitals used by the members of the Russian government. Macrimex also has its own office in Moscow to co-ordinate local activities.

When selecting software to run their accounts one of the key criteria was the ability to process multiple currencies. We can also enter exchange rates for querying so we can see the likely effects of exchange rate fluctuations. The programme quickly provides us with the currency gain or loss as a revaluation figure,” he said. “Another Access feature that we love is the Batching Mode. It is a safety net that provides a double check before posting. It is a good training tool too because a new person working on the system is told to batch their work before posting and then check it with an experienced user. This is a wonderful precautionary measure.”
