Satra’s Footwear Technology Centre is the largest in the world. Set up in 1919, the company is an international research and technology organisation. It serves a number of consumer product industries including footwear, clothing/fabric care, safety products and furniture.

Satra’s previous accounts system had proved unreliable and had little reporting functionality. As well as rectifying these issues, the company’s new system also needed to perform well with Project Costing.

“Access Accounts is very easy to use and modern,” said Financial Director Rob Morgan, “It is Year 2000 compliant and the ability to extract information to Excel enabled us to produce many standard, pre-configured management reports from detailed accounting data. We chose Access because we need a strong Project Costing system as a lot of our work is project based. Plus we need to network up to date information for managers and the system must integrate with a membership database we are introducing. We got an independent recommendation for Access Accounts from a similar type of organisation with our requirements, which proved to be good advice.”
