A new group of financiers is to meet to discuss ways of improving government accounting systems from next month, it has been announced.
Finance professionals will meet as part of the Hundred Group of Finance Directors, which will include experts from the Bank of England and the BBC, Accountancy Age reports.
Up to 130 experts are expected to meet, many of whom are in charge of large sums of public money.
Mary Keegan, the head of the government accountancy service, told the publication: "We all come from very different backgrounds to share best practice and in part as a support community."
In addition, Ms Keegan is said to have spoken about international financial reporting standards and bringing private finance initiatives to the government's balance sheet, as well as how the group will be able to help talented people identify career opportunities.
The organisation is made of professionals from the top 100 FTSE companies in the UK and is a funding body for the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
