A new poll looking at the implications of the recent Legal Services Act has found the majority of lawyers would be happy to team up with accountancy firms.
In news that may interest companies looking to install accounting software, the study by communications consultancy Spada found over 60 per cent of solicitors believed a partnership with accountants could be beneficial, reports Accountancy Magazine.
A further 23 per cent showed interest in teaming up with corporate finance houses.
The survey comes after the Legal Services Act made multidisciplinary practices permissible for legal firms from 2011-12.
It also found 70 per cent of respondents were keen to form legal disciplinary practices, which allow 25 per cent non-lawyer partners.
The Legal Services Act was passed in 2007 and also included the creation of an Office for Legal Complaints and a new regulatory body, the Legal Service Board.
