Access Payroll ready for new CIS rules

Award-winning software developer, Access Accounting, has launched a new software module to meet the forthcoming changes to HM Revenue and Customs CIS rules. The Subcontractors CIS system allows businesses to update their records in time for April 2007, when the changes will be implemented.

The new module, which sits alongside the company's Access Payroll software, takes account of all known changes to the legislation so end users can start preparing records and collating information immediately. It also takes account of the existing CIS rules which remain in force until April 2007. Access Payroll is accredited by the HM Revenue & Customs’ rigorous Payroll Standards Scheme.

“Access Payroll can be provided as a standalone system, and combined with this new CIS module, it provides an economic way to manage subcontractors without replacing the whole accounting system,” said Pip Trowles, Payroll Product Manager. Access Payroll and CIS can also be integrated with Access Accounts applications.

Pip Trowles added, “The new CIS Scheme aims to remove some of the administrative burden on businesses by allowing them to make returns electronically rather than on paper, as is currently the case. However, any electronic correspondence has to conform to the HMRC's IR-Mark, which the Subcontractors CIS system does.”
