Dimensions helps KX Network Solutions stay number one

Europe's largest reseller of Cisco systems, KX Network Solutions has chosen to implement the award-winning Access Dimensions solution from Access Accounting as part of its investment to retain market share. The company, which has seen massive profitability since its incorporation in 1996, needed a system that would keep up with its complex distribution needs and chose David Howard Consulting to implement the solution.

Katie Goodall, administration manager at KX Network Solutions, commented, "With a reputation for first-class customer service and a swift distribution service to maintain, we simply had to gain greater stock visibility. We have a huge number of hardware items that can be split into various components and require some form of system to track each one. That simply wasn't happening with our former systems, which ran in parallel, so there was no integration between our accounts and stock data."

The ability to integrate Access Dimensions with the existing software solutions was essential to gain automatic reconciliation between the systems and avoid errors caused by re-keying information. There was also a need for better reporting features so managers could focus on profit margins, avoiding the laborious task of manually extracting information and re-formatting it. Ease of use was absolutely vital, since every staff member is involved in the flow of products in and out of the warehouse.

Since the implementation, KX Network Solutions has achieved far greater efficiency of order processing. Third-party integration with PDAs used in the warehouse has increased the speed by which items can be retrieved from stock and sent out, and the serial number tracking facility gives far greater transparency for each item.

The switch to Access Dimensions has also had a marked impact on restoring user confidence. "Initially, not one of the staff wanted to change, but Dimensions is just so efficient and easy to use that they love it," Katie concluded.
